I get it, school is important but the teachers have to start understanding I can’t do everything all at once. We had to write a four page paper in three days while doing all of the other homework. And I understand, I’m the one that took the college class but they have to understand I am only one person. I am not saying school is all bad, I appreciate my education and that teachers try and help me as much as they can but sometimes I think they need to give us more time on subjects that we need more help with instead of just giving us homework and moving on.

Germany Under Attack

This past week in Germany two bombs went off. No one was hurt but the cops don’t know who did it. The police think the bombs were related because they went off just minutes apart and were in the same relative place. The cops believe the people who set it off did it because next week is unity day for Germany and the Chancellor will be there. This can be related to the U.S. because it is a foreign affair and we aren’t sure who did it so there could be a chance that something would happen to us.

What would you do?

What if drugs weren’t a problem in high school? What would different? Would it change how many people use drugs as adults? If you were to ask me I think if kids stopped using drugs then life in high school would be much different. My cousin started smoking weed with her friends when she first started high school, and it wasn’t that her smoking was the problem. It was her pier pressure that was the problem. Eventually she started drinking and enjoyed that so much that she would show up to school drunk and sometimes high. At one point she decided she couldn’t take it anymore and she took 16 pills during my moms fundraiser. When she finally told someone they rushed her to the hospital, she ended up on suicide watch for a week and was taken out of school for the rest of the year. She took the summer to recover and was going to go to C.J. for her junior year, but because of the decisions she made with her new friends she was kicked out of school and is now finishing her classes online. So what would have happened if she wouldn’t have decided to let the pier pressure take over her life? What would you do if this was your life?

Cenote Description

This photo is of a cenote. A cenote is a natural hole in the earth that fills with the underground water. In this photograph the water is as clear as a crystal. The water does not look very deep because it looks like you could touch the rocks under the water. The rocks above the water look like you could almost touch them, they are covered with green moss and look like they would feel moist. If you were to try and swim in this hole I think it would be cold because it is water from the ground and does not get a lot of sun to make it warm naturally.

Why I’m Unique

As a new student at Kenton Ridge I have found that things can be very different especially because my dad is an administrator and people knew who I was before I knew them. The students think I get special treatment and the teachers think I should work harder because they know who my dad is. The teachers are very kind at Kenton Ridge but because I am a new student, they feel the need to single me out for example in class when the teacher gives group work, they will ask the class who will let me work with them, and I feel I am perfectly able to find a group myself, I have been in school for 11 years. The teachers also do not give the students as much freedom as they did at my old school because many of the teacher’s take our phones at the beginning of class but I do not think they should take them until we have proven we can not handle having them.

Being a new student, I also bring a new perspective to the class, for example my anatomy teacher took away test correction because anyone could get half of their points back on a test but it seemed unfair for those who did really bad and I suggested she do corrections but the highest grade they could get would be a C, so no matter what grade anyone got it was fair for those who did corrections. The teachers may single me out but I know they are only trying to be nice because I do not know very many people yet and eventually they will let me do the things in class on my own. The students will eventually understand that I don’t get special treatment because I do all the same work they do. I will just have to get used to the new rules and less freedom.
